I mean. Hello! I am Matt! I bring with me Ryu, from Breath of Fire IV, aka the game with some of the greatest writing I have ever seen shut up it's not just nostalgia.

Ryu is... well. A god. Or half of one. It's complicated. I'm bringing him right after chapter II, which if you know the canon is when he first transformed into the Kaiser Dragon. If you don't know the canon, basically he just transformed into a super powerful dragon and slaughtered a band of soldiers.

... He had a good reason okay.

Ryu is generally a super happy guy! He's always willing to help people and he's always willing to defend them! Unless you're a bad person.

Hi, Matt! I have not heard of this game, but it sounds pretty awesome. I'll look forward to him being a chipper magical dragon boy. I love enthusiastic characters.

It is very awesome! It was released in 2000, but it was rereleased for PSN two years ago. :3

... Now that I think about it, John might be the sort of person whom he bothers, since he definitely has the patience for Sherlock and Ryu is... usually less stressful than that. And he'd be all concerned over his limp. :(

John has the patience for most anyone after Sherlock... provided they aren't sociopaths. I think we're good there, though! Ryu looks like someone John could get on well with when John isn't being exasperated by Ryu and his obliviousness to things like the necessity of clothing.

As for the limp, John's free of that unless something takes a serious bad turn in the game. I am contemplating him continuing to suffer from nightmares, though. That's not something the show really explores after the first ep, but I imagine any veteran would still have them.

No, Ryu went berserk on someone because they were brutally killing children so. :| Definitely not a fan of sociopaths either.

Fortunately for everyone, Nina has mostly convinced him to keep wearing it.

Ah, okay. It's been a while since I've watched and... as I said, I haven't kept up. But yeah, I imagine they would - Ryu's stated to have nightmares and strange dreams in the manga, so I go with that too. They can bond over it idk.

Bonding is a good thing and John's going to need people to talk to now that he's alone again.

Ryu would be the worst at pub quizzes, he doesn't know anything. At least anything that would relate to a seminormal world. xD

... Yeah, Ryu is, too. He's only been alone like... once - no. Twice. But they weren't for very long.
