If you need some prompts to help you get things going, you can use the following:

1 - Roommates: You just got to El Sera and you're settling in to your new dorm or apartment. Now would be a good time to get to know your new roommate. Maybe the two of you can go out shopping for clothes and food with the allowance from Xochipilli...?

2 - Battle: You were just minding your own business when a monster suddenly attacked! Or is that another magical boy...? Either way, it's time to transform and take care of this mess.

3 - Romance: A confession, a first date, maybe even an engagement proposal. El Sera is an oceanfront city and a riverside city, so there are plenty of romantic spots to choose from.

4 - The Power of Friendship: Your friends are there for you. Whether you're in a desperate struggle or just feeling down, they're here to pick you up and help you out.

5 - Rivals: You're minding your own business when you see... him. Be it at school, while your out shopping, or waiting for the bus, things just got a lot more tense.

Just so we're clear, then, you'd rather waste five minutes than give me one to seriously wound an enemy at a distance before you go charging at it? Right. Well, who wouldn't when we're working under a time limit?

That's strategy right there. Aren't you supposed to be some kind of soldier?

[He cant remember everything from his homeland. But damn it, Watson is right, as much as he hates to admit it to himself.

Strategy is only as useful as those using it, and those whom it can apply to. If you want to be using strategy, doctor, find someone who care to do so with you.

Tch! Yeah, all right. [John rolls his shoulders. He'd like to get an honest rise out of Kain. It might help the urge to throttle him.] Should we order? I'd just like to toast to your imminent demise, mate. I'm sure you'll have a lovely funeral provided there's a body left over.

Wouldn't count on that, though. Monsters and all, yeah?

How bloodthirsty of you, doctor. [Not like he... cares though.]

Though it would only happen should I indeed fall in battle-- and i have no intention of doing so.

[The bloodthirsty comment just earns Kain another tight smile. He's been accused of far worse by far more perceptive people.]

You know what they say about the road to Hell?

[He motions one of the passing servers. She comes over and John flashes a brilliant grin at her. She's pretty and looks a little nervous. When she asks for their orders, John glances over at Kain before looking back at the girl.]

Cup of tea for me, please. Really the only thing I'm thirsty for.

[The server turns to Kain, expectantly.]

[Kain doesn't extend the same courtesy to the poor girl-- he doesn't coddle. Never has.]

It must have slipped my mind. [Especially when it's one of those inanities about death and the "afterlife" people from the Earth realm tend to concern themselves with. Anything of the sort tends to go into one ear only to travel out through the other.] Do remind me what people of your realm bother with so much that you lose focus of what's really important.

[John ignores Kain for a moment to roll his eyes and shrug dramatically at the server.] That'll be all then, miss.

[She departs and he turns his attention back to his brusque tablemate.] Good intentions. The road to Hell's paved with them. Though, I'm not sure I could call you being alive a good intention. You're going to get yourself and your partner killed some day soon here, mate.

[He stands abruptly and pulls out enough money to cover the tea along with a nice tip.] Enjoy that. I'll tell the suits upstairs to keep you the Hell away from me for mission assignments. Cheers, eh?

Make sure that girl gets this. [He sets the money down on the table, squares his shoulders and marches away. It's a tactical retreat. Kain isn't budging and John's liable to lose his cool before the tea arrives. There's only so much boneheadedness he can take when it isn't accompanied by true brilliance.]
